A Caveat
Although research findings indicate that consuming dark chocolate can help to reduce blood pressure for those with hypertension, those with normal blood pressure did not experience the same benefit, other than the satisfaction of eating chocolate. If eaten in excess, any possible beneficial effect on blood pressure is likely to be outweighed by the risk of becoming overweight, leading to other health complications. Eat chocolate because you enjoy it; not because you’re looking for the potential health benefits from it.
